So, you just found me, huh...

Yes, Nacho is a name. My name – also the name of a food. To be honest, my actual name is Ignacio, but when I was born a nurse started calling me Nacho and there's that – it stayed forever. Yes, I hear you. You came to hear more about me. Right.

I play the piano. Since I'm a very sociable person, I have somehow ended up participating in a lot of crazy, unexpected projects that have shaped the kind of musician that I am. While I grew up with the strictest classical training, I soon started dabbling in free improv, musical theatre, experimental theatre music, contemporary music, New Music opera, videogame music and pop. This wide variety in my artistic activity has always been as fullfilling to me as it has been chaotic.

Having been subject to so many types of music and productions, I decided I wanted to specialize in New Music, which was the field that I thought brought me the most joy and artistic achievement. However, in a practical way, I continued developing my artistic activity in all these fields – and still today I keep doing it. I don't want to drop any of these sides of me, because each of these correspond to an indispensable part of my training and musicianship. In due time I realized it was this wide variety in the music I did that brought me happiness in the practice of my craft. And fun. So much fun!

Being a New Music musician, maybe my favorite side of the craft is working with composers, and bringing their wonderful creations to life.

Another side of me that maybe you should know is that my various experiences in theatrical productions have led me to pursue training as an actor, and specifically, as a voice actor. This adds to my experience as a New Music musician, where acting skills are essential for a big part of the repertoire. I am grateful to be able to teach musical theatre in the prestigious NYC studio The Barrow Group, where I'm also receiving my training.

I am dedicated and passionate about music, and I consciously try to play expressively every singl phrase that I perform. Speaking about playing, I am an active D&D player and that is relevant because... reasons.

But that's enough chatter... isn't it? I'd like to show you what I do. I have selected the best of my performances and recordings in the different genres that I play – you can find them in the next slide of this website: Performances.
